■Thanksgiving Cooking Safety

The Kitchen is The Heart of The Home

The kitchen is the heart of the home, especially at Thanksgiving. Waring Digital Rotisserie Deep Fryer is our newest kitchen appliance and it is pretty big! To deep fry a turkey in there it needs a minimum of 9 litres of peanut oil. “Deep-frying your food in peanut oil will give your meal a light, somewhat nutty flavor.” It is said “deep-frying is a fast, easy way to make relatively healthy meals, particularly when you use peanut oil instead of animal fat.”



Did you know “Thanksgiving is the leading day of the year for home fires involving cooking equipment”? So, we decided to use this fryer outside on the deck.


20 minutes later…


It took only 43 minutes to cook 11 pound (about 5 kg) turkey!!

 


People enjoyed this golden, crispy and juicy turkey a lot.

七面鳥(ターキー)は、「頭から首にかけて皮膚が露出し色が赤・青・紫などの色に変わることから名づけられた」らしい。これを聞くと食欲をそそられませんが、ターキーの丸揚げはおすすめ。オーブンで焼くと3~4時間かかるターキーが、43分間ピーナッツオイルの中をグルグル回転し、カラッと揚がったお肉はとてもジューシーでした。
